MT. VERNON – Mt. Vernon Police arrested a 56-year-old man over the weekend on multiple firearms charges.

According to Jefferson County Jail reports, Christopher Smith of Mt. Vernon was arrested Friday afternoon and booked into the county jail on charges of Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Delivery of a Firearm by a Felon, Unlawful Delivery of a Firearm to an Addict, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Smith remains in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bond.
