MARION – Republic Services says it is closing operations at the Marion Transfer Station, located at 1410 Longstreet Rd., Saturday.
The last day of operation will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents of Marion and the surrounding area are encouraged to use Republic’s Herrin Transfer Station, located at 13129 Bandyville Rd., for their future disposal needs. The Herrin Transfer Station accepts municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, roofing and recycling.
Marion and Williamson County residents can dispose of their recycling at the Williamson County Recycling drop off, located at the Williamson County Administrative Building on North Monroe Street in Marion. Hours and dates for drop off can be found at williamsoncountyil.gov/recycling.
