CARBONDALE – A Marion man has been arrested in connection with a September hit-and-run traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the 400 block of East Walnut Street in Carbondale.
According to Carbondale Police, this happened on September 26 at 7:30 p.m.
The pedestrian was hospitalized as a result of their injuries.
Detectives continued to follow up on the investigation and with the assistance of the Jackson County States Attorney’s Office, obtained an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Dewone D. Miller, of Marion, for Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Involving Personal Injury and Aggravated Battery.
Officers responded to the 700 block of South Lewis Lane just before 6:30 Monday night on a report that Miller was in that area. Officers located Miller who fled on foot, but was apprehended by officers after a brief foot chase. Miller was arrested for the warrant and lodged in the Jackson County Jail. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The assistance of the public in this investigation is appreciated.
Carbondale Police need your help finding the vehicle involved, a gray 2010 Nissan Rogue, with Illinois license plate K60 0864.
