MCLEANSBORO – Kathy Rae Braden, age 72, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away at 12:05 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital, McLeansboro, IL.

Kathy was born November 13, 1951, in Fairfield, IL to Clifford Jackson and Opal (Hodges) Jackson. She married Curtiss Edward Braden on October 23, 1979, in Fairfield, IL.

She was employed many years as a Home Health Aide. One of her favorite past times was watching TV and movies, spending time outdoors and driving around with her husband Ed.

Kathy is survived by her husband Ed, daughters Kelli Rexing and husband Charles of McLeansboro, IL; Opal Zuber, McLeansboro, IL; Leigh Spicer, McLeansboro, IL; Suzan Spicer, sister Valerie Gay McQueen, son Kaleb Braden and companion Tonya Cross of Dahlgren, IL.

Preceding Kathy in death were her parents, 1 sister Kay Paul and brother Billy Jo Raine.

Visitation only will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, which is in charge of arrangements.

A private burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
