HERRIN – The Herrin Fire Department was called out to a home in Herrin Wednesday morning not for a fire, but to help free a pet snake.

When crews arrived, they found Nagini, a 6’ Boa. Nagini had been stuck in the side panel of a kitchen cabinet for 12 hours after escaping her enclosure.

Two firefighters were able to take the cabinet apart so the owner could get the snake.

No damage was done to the property. Nagini was returned safely to her enclosure.
