MCLEANSBORO – Wilma Willis, age 90 of McLeansboro, IL, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2023 at The Silver Foxes Senior Living & Rehab Center in McLeansboro, IL.
Visitation services will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Ten Mile Baptist Church with the Funeral Service at 3 p.m. Pastor Jacob Gray will officiate the service. Burial will be in Ten Mile Cemetery.
Wilma was born July 21, 1933, in McLeansboro, IL to Alva Bennett and Freda (Smith) Bennett. She married Kenneth Willis November 20, 1955 at Ten Mile Baptist Church. He preceded her in death December 3, 2017. She was employed as a Director of Senior Citizens with the Hamilton County Senior Citizens. Wilma was a lifelong member of Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to manage all the duties and responsibilities of farm life and she loved reading, flowers and gardening; she was a member of Home Extension and was very active in her church.
Wilma is survived by daughters Julie Brenner and husband Greg of McLeansboro, IL and Jennifer Willis of McLeansboro, IL; sons Stephen Willis of Macedonia, IL and Stanley Kent Willis and wife Sheila of Foley, AL; grandchildren Kelly Jerrells, Michael Brenner, Tristan Willis, Chelsea Yeager, Jason Willis, Christopher Willis, Camryn Parker; 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, sister-in-law Margaret Morgan of Florida, 1 brother Roy Bennett and wife Bobbie of Greenup, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in Death by parents, husband, two brothers Robert Bennett and Alva Bennett, and one sister Mary Tennyson.
