METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.

Metropolis Police responded to a disturbance at the Spence Apartments. Upon arrival, officers learned that Darrell A McCoy, 60, of Metropolis had been banging on doors. Officers located McCoy on the other side of the building. Officers were aware that McCoy had previously been trespassed from Massac County Housing Properties. McCoy was charged and released on a notice to appear for Criminal Trespass to State Supported property.

A Metropolis officer stopped a white Ford pick-up truck for driving around posted barricades which were posted on E/B 10th and Market. The road was blocked due to a water main break and city workers were fixing the problem. A computer check on the driver, Kevin N. Obermark, 58, of Metropolis revealed that his driver’s license was cancelled. Obermark was charged with No Valid License and Improper Lane Usage. He was released on a notice to appear.
