SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – County officials in Hamilton County and Franklin County has issued burn bans until further notice. This is due to dry and windy conditions.
The National Weather Service says the entire area is under a Wind Advisory from 7 this morning until 3 Wednesday morning.
Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, so secure your outdoor objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Automotive travel will be impacted, especially for high profile vehicles. Lakes will have high wave potential as well.
Peak wind gusts will likely be in the afternoon or early evening for most of the area.
