VERGENNES – A Marion man was recently killed in a one-vehicle crash in Jackson County.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that it received a report about the crash around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29. It happened near the intersection of Elkville Road and Coffer Road in Vergennes.

The sheriff’s office along with the Elkville Police Department, Vergennes Fire Department, Elkville Fire Department, Dowell Fire Department, and the Jackson County Ambulance Service responded to the scene.

The crash investigation found that a tan 2002 Nissan pickup, driven by 27-year-old Hunter Lincoln of Marion, was going east when the truck left the roadway, collided with a ditch, and overturned. Lincoln was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner.

Traffic on Elkville Road was restricted for two hours while emergency personnel were on scene.

The Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
