CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police say they are looking for two juveniles in connection with a recent shooting on South Rawlings Street.
Just before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, officers responded to the 500 block of South Rawlings Street and began an investigation of three individuals that were injured by gunfire. The incident was found to be the result of an ongoing dispute between known acquaintances.
During the ensuing investigation, Carbondale Police detectives identified two suspects who are juveniles from Carbondale. With the assistance of the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, arrest warrants were granted for their arrest. Detectives are actively seeking them at this time. The names of the juvenile suspects are not being released due to legal prohibitions involving juvenile suspects. Police report one of the victims involved has been discharged from the hospital, while two are still undergoing ongoing medical treatment for injuries as a result of the incident. Police continue to investigate the shooting.
