JOHNSON COUNTY – Preliminary damage survey results from the National Weather Service in Paducah say it was an EF-3 tornado that touched down near Lake of Egypt in Johnson County Sunday evening.

The tornado lasted from 6:38 to 6:48 p.m. It had 150 mph winds and its path was around 5 miles. It stretched form Newton Lane over I-57 and I-24 near where they split to the Lake of Egypt area. Its maximum width was 300 yards. One injury was reported. No deaths were reported.

Trees were severely damaged along the tornado’s path with hundreds of trees snapped and departed. Numerous power poles were snapped. One home was severely damaged with a collapsed wall. Two manufactured homes were severely damaged or destroyed.
