MARION – There’s a new Miss Illinois.

Twenty-six-year-old Breana Bagley won the title Saturday evening at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center following five days of interviews, performances, and rehearsals. She competed as Miss Land of Lincoln and is a native of Decatur, Illinois. She was selected from a field of 28 candidates.

Bagley, an attorney with the law firm of Sandburg Phoenix, will spend the next year traveling throughout the state to attend special events and promoting her social community initiative of defying pancreatic cancer and rare diseases. In addition to the title and crown, Bagley wins a minimum $10,000 in scholarships and will represent Illinois at the Miss America competition in January.

Miss Heart of Illinois McKenna Vereeke of Edwardsville was named runner-up.
