MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says there was a confirmed sighting of a black bear in the area of Galatia Post and Angelville Road in the eastern part of the county around 6:10 Thursday morning.

Don’t approach the bear if you see it. Call the sheriff’s office at 618-997-6541.

Last week, the Carrier Mills Police Department reported a black bear sighting in Carrier Mills and warned residents to not approach it.

It’s not known at this time if this is the same bear.
