WEST FRANKFORT – A Texas man was found with illegal drugs after being stopped by Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies on Illinois 149 near I-57 in West Frankfort around 7:50 Thursday night.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the driver and only occupant in the vehicle, 42-year-old Patrick R. McFadden of Texarkana, TX, is charged with two traffic offenses, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 4 Felony), Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Class 3 Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor). He is also being held for the State of Indiana in relation to an outstanding arrest warrant. He was taken to the Franklin County Jail.

During the stop it was determined that McFadden’s driving privileges were revoked and he was also wanted out of Indiana for methamphetamine possession. 

McFadden was soon taken into custody, and incident to arrest, his vehicle was searched. During the search, deputies located items of drug paraphernalia as well as methamphetamine. Numerous pills were also located within the vehicle that were identified by McFadden as being MDMA (Ecstasy). He was then arrested and taken to jail.
