BROOKPORT/PADUCAH – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to temporarily close the U.S. 45 Ohio River “Brookport” Bridge for about three hours Tuesday so a contractor can examine the existing navigational lighting on the bridge in order to help design a new navigation lighting system to be installed in the future.

The placement of equipment to facilitate the work will require the bridge to be closed to all traffic for about three hours. The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon.

There will be no marked detour. Motorists may self-detour by using the Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge.
