HARRISBURG – Three people have been charged in connection with two separate burglaries at the First Baptist Church Disaster Relief storage facility in Harrisburg.
Harrisburg Police say the facility was burglarized on Aug. 4 and again on Aug. 10. During the burglaries, church members identified numerous pieces of outdoor power equipment, valued in excess of $15,000, missing from the facility.
A member of FBC Disaster Relief Wednesday received information regarding the burglary and provided that information to Harrisburg detectives. As a result of that information, Harrisburg Police were able to identify a Harrisburg home, where it was believed that a significant portion of the stolen property was being stored. Officers and deputies conducted a search at that home and recovered property taken in both burglaries.
As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested 43-year-old James D. Long of Harrisburg, 38-year-old Michael R. Harford of Eldorado, and 39-year-old Melissa G. Noble of Harrisburg. All three individuals were charged with two counts of Burglary and two counts of Theft over $10,000. They were booked into the Saline County Detention Center.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.
