MARION – The much-anticipated Southern Illinois Truck Showdown is back in Marion for its third year, promising an exciting weekend for truck enthusiasts and the whole community. Last year, the event boasted an impressive display of over 460 trucks, and this year, even more participants are expected to showcase their prized vehicles.
The event weekend kicks off Friday with an open house at Level 7. Attendees can then head over to the 618 Taphouse to enjoy a concert by Pez & the Dispensers, adding a musical note to the festivities.
The main event unfolds Saturday in the parking lot of Mtn Dew Park, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., where visitors can marvel at a diverse array of trucks. The excitement doesn’t end there. A cruise through downtown Marion will follow. The winning trucks will be on display at Tower Square Plaza. The day will be topped off with a free concert featuring the Swamp Tigers, providing the perfect closing notes to an action-packed day.
