CARTERVILLE (JALC NEWS) – John A. Logan College has significantly enhanced its campus parking system. The system will move from a traditional lettering system to a more intuitive color-coded system. This change is designed to simplify parking for students, staff, and visitors, making locating and navigating parking areas across the campus easier.
The new color-coded system will categorize parking lots by distinct colors, each representing different zones. This visual approach aims to reduce confusion and streamline the parking experience, helping users quickly find available spaces.
John A. Logan College President Dr. Kirk Overstreet said the change was made to help first-time visitors to campus.
“When someone comes to our campus for the first time, the old lettering system could be confusing. We now have new signage with the corresponding color prominently located in each lot, making it easier to navigate the campus.”
Key Features of the New Parking System:
Color-Coded Zones: Each parking lot will be marked with a specific color.
Improved Navigation: Enhanced signage throughout the campus will guide individuals to their respective color-coded parking zones, ensuring a smoother arrival experience.
Clear Identification: The new system includes color-coded maps and digital aids on the college’s website, allowing users to easily plan their parking before arriving on campus.
John A. Logan College’s transition to this new system reflects its commitment to improving campus operations and the overall experience of its community. The college believes this change will benefit everyone by providing a more user-friendly and efficient parking solution.
