MT. VERNON – Mt. Vernon Police arrested a man Wednesday on an active Jefferson County arrest warrant charging him with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and five counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Thirty-three-year-old Christopher A. Milburn was arrested at his Waltonville Road home just before 7:30 a.m. and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.

The arrest warrant was a result of a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigation into child pornography allegations after receiving a Cybertip report on May 24. Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began the investigation, leading to search warrants for electronic records. The results of those warrants led to another search warrant, this time for Milburn’s home, served on Aug. 5. Electronic devices were collected during the execution of the warrant, that were later forensically analyzed, revealing evidence of criminal activity.

The investigation also uncovered allegations that Milburn worked at Mt. Vernon Township High School in 2013. He was 22 years old at that time, and had inappropriate sexual contact with a 14-year-old student. Interviews were conducted in addition to the steps taken in the original investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, the case file was forwarded to the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office seeking criminal charges.
