BENTON – Harvest season is underway. That means you’re going to be seeing lots of farm machinery moving on roads and state highways throughout rural Franklin County.

Sheriff Kyle Bacon says when your approach farm equipment, slow down and be prepared to stop. Always assume that the operator of the equipment doesn’t see you. Before passing, make sure that you’re not approaching an intersection and that the farmer isn’t preparing to turn.  

The sheriff says please continue to be courteous and safe on our roadways and don’t forget to thank farmers.
