MARION – The Hands of Hope Foundation is partnering with The Subculture of Mt. Vernon to organize local collection depots for Hurricane Helene relief.
Hands of Hope will then take the donation to The Subculture where they will then ship them into distribution partners in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Items needed include shampoo, hand soap, deodorant, body wash, wet wipes, rubbing alcohol, band aids, over the counter medicines, bottled water, fuel cards, cleaning supplies, trash bags, work gloves, flashlights, batteries, charcoal, propane tanks, gas cans, candles, and blankets.
You can also donate funds to hohfoundation.org/donate or text 618-663-4636. Select “Hurricane Helene Relief Fund.”
Drop off locations include Herrin House of Hope on North 14th Street in Herrin. Come to the back alley door weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Community of Faith Church on Meadowland Parkway in Marion. You can donate during services or weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., or leave your donation in the portico.
Items will be collected until Thursday, Oct. 31.
