COLP – An investigation into the death of a four-day-old child in Colp is underway according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 8:30 Monday morning, deputies responded to a 911 report regarding the child who was unresponsive in Colp. EMS took the child to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The home was secured. Sheriff’s investigators arrived to begin their investigation.

The sheriff’s office has requested help from the Illinois Child Death Investigations Task Force, which is standard protocol used in cases involving a child’s death according to Sheriff Jeff Diederich.
