CARBONDALE – Two people were seriously injured and taken by ambulance to a local hospital after being freed from their vehicles in a two-vehicle accident Sunday evening in the 500 block of South Giant City Road in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say the roadway was closed to investigate the crash. Carbondale Fire also responded to the scene.
