MT. VERNON – The City of Mt. Vernon says Ilberry Road, west of South 42nd Street, is now closed for a major upgrade including new pavement, entrances, curbs, and sidewalks. This closure is expected to last up to six weeks, depending on weather conditions.

During this time Ilberry Road will not be accessible from South 42nd Street, Martins Automotive and Mt. Vernon Church of Christ can only be accessed from the west using South 44th Street and South 44th Street is open only up to Ilberry Road. There is no through access beyond this point.
