MARION – Three people have been arrested on various drug and gun charges after the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a multi-jurisdictional parole compliance operation called “Operation Safeguard.” Those arrested and cited were Michael A. Carver, Jody L. Price and Samantha Brooks.

According to the sheriff’s office, the purpose of the operation was to ensure that persons paroled from custody maintain compliance with the terms of their release and do not re-offend.

As a result of this operation, Carver, Price and Brooks were determined to have either violated the terms of their parole and/or probable cause was established to arrest them on additional charges.

Carver was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition.

Carver was cited for Possession of Methamphetamine,Possession Drug Paraphernalia, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon.

Price was discovered to be in possession of methamphetamine, a firearm with a defaced serial number, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition.

Price was cited for Felon Possession of Firearm, Methamphetamine Delivery 5-15 Grams, Possession of Methamphetamine 5-15 Grams, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Firearm Ammunition, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
Possession of Firearm with Defaced Serial Number, and Possession of Controlled Substance.

Brooks, who is not on parole but was was discovered to be present and in possession of methamphetamine, a firearm with a defaced serial number, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition.

Brooks was cited for Felon Possession of Firearm, Methamphetamine Delivery 5-15 Grams, Possession of Methamphetamine 5-15 Grams, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Firearm Ammunition, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Firearm with Defaced Serial Number, and Possession of Controlled Substance.

Carver, Price, and Brooks were transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.

Sheriff Jeff Diederich stated, “Those released from prison who choose to advance their lives by leading productive, rehabilitative, and crime free futures are the success stories we strive to achieve. In furtherance of this goal, the law enforcement community of Williamson County is unified in ensuring these individuals meet their obligations.”
