BENTON – Good news for those who like to skate in Benton.
Pearson’s Skating Rink on Illinois 37 south of Benton is set to reopen its doors Friday.
A broken water line last December caused damage to the facility including the wood skating floor. The owners decided to close the facility after what happened, but announced in May that repairs would begin and reopen.
The owners said on the skating rink’s Facebook page that everything is not done that they would like to be done, but feel they need to reopen for the community. The building will get painted by spring or possibly earlier depending on the weather. They say everyone is going to love the floor. They are now able to start booking parties.
