CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police say an Elizabethtown resident was found with a stolen handgun at a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Wall Street Sunday.

Police stopped 21-year-old Natly M. Johnson for failing to display a registration plate. They also found a handgun that had previously been reported stolen. There was also evidence that the gun had been fired in the City, though no property damage or injuries is known to have happened as a result.

Officers charged Johnson with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Improper Display of Registration, Unlawful Possession of a Vehicle Title, and Endangering the Life or Health of a Child.

Johnson was taken to and lodged in the Jackson County Jail where he was incarcerated.

Carbondale Police say their investigation is active and ongoing.
