CENTRALIA (WMIX) – An Amtrak train was stopped in Centralia Christmas night as Centralia Police searched for a man reportedly threatening to shoot everyone on board.
According to Centralia Police Lt. Joe Rizzo, the report was determined to be unfounded and the train was allowed to leave.
He says Amtrak had received a report from a third party of a man on the train upset with delays threatening to shoot everyone, so they stopped the train at 16th and Walnut in Centralia.
Rizzo says officers searched the train, but they were unable to find anyone matching the description given.
Amtrak also says the report was ultimately unfounded.
