REND LAKE – A bobcat made an unexpected visit at the Rend Lake Project Office/Visitor Center Wednesday morning.

Jackie Taylor, project manager at Rend Lake, said on their Facebook page that the bobcat came from the pond area, across the parking lot, and right by her office window. The bobcat stopped and looked into the back entry doors, then headed toward the maintenance area. Taylor said she had never seen one so out in the open.

According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, bobcats may be found statewide in Illinois and mating occurs February through April.
