MURPHYSBORO – A man from Honduras was recently sentenced to 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Home Invasion, a Class X felony, in Jackson County Court.
According to the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s office, on March 8 of this year, 27-year-old Jose Membreno Suate unlawfully entered a Jackson County resident’s home using a debit card. He was arrested on scene. Suate admitted to the allegations in an interview following his arrest. Suate had no ties to the Carbondale community.
The Carbondale Police Department conducted the investigation.
